First civilian governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Abubakar Saleh Michika is dead.
He died Sunday morning at the Federal Medical Center, Yola, after a prolonged illness.
He was the governor of the state from 2 January 1992 to 17 November 1993.
Michika was a member of the then ruling National Republican Convention (NRC).
He worked with the British Bank of West Africa in 1966 as well as John Holt company before joining politics.
Born in 1941, Michika is survived by children, grand children and great grand children.
